The problem of lost
productivity in the workplace- due to disability, caregiving, and other
care-related issues- increased dramatically as Baby Boomers became the
dominant demographic cohort in the American workforce. The drain on
productivity has grown from an estimated 27 billion dollars in 1997 up
to 33.6 billion dollars in 2006. Now a study released last month adds
another $13.4 billion. NavGate Technologies brings 2 solutions -
CareOptions OnLine™- COOL™- and CareOptions Analytics™ Program- CAP™.
These systems help employers reduce lost productivity due to absenteeism
and presenteeism, help employees and their families lead a healthier
life and deal with caregiving responsibilities, and enable agents,
brokers and providers to demonstrate the value of their products and
services. |

United States has an aging population with over 76 million baby boomers
about to take center stage to the mature age of 65. We all have taken
for granite youth and how fast it goes by, one day you’re 30 and the
next day you’re 65.
Did
we know 30 years ago that medical technology would be what it is today?
Did we know that a little white pill could sustain our lives for
another, possibly 20 years? We had no idea that we would see people
working well into their 80’s and enjoying every day as though they are
30 years old.
In 1990 there were an estimated 18 million in
the 65- to 74-year-old age group, 12 million in the 75- to 84-year-old
age group, 2 million in the 85- to 99-year-old age group, and a small
number in the 100 years and older age group.
In 1995 there will be an estimated 18 million
in the 65- to 74-year-old age group, 14 million in the 75- to
84-year-old age group, 2 million in the 85- to 99-year-old age group,
and a small number in the 100 years and older age group.
In 2010 there will be an estimated 21.5
million in the 65- to 74-year-old age group, 17 million in the 75- to
84-year-old age group, 2.1 million in the 85- to 99-year-old age group,
and a small number in the 100 years and older age group.
Every one of these wonderful Americans worked
for someone at some point in their lives! |

How to build a $4 million organization in 31/2 years selling
voluntary benefits.
Most
agents/brokers do not understand the business model or income
potential for voluntary benefit sales. Marvin will show how to build
an organization within their agency or start-up. He will provide a
business model of recruiting, training, marketing and selling. When
selling voluntary insurances, commissions are many times most health
benefits, pays weekly and builds a renewal base that nobody can take
away that can be quite large. And how tapping into the education
being provided by Workplace Benefits can be properly utilized.

Employers
are struggling to fund core benefits. How do Voluntary Worksite
Plans provide solutions for your employers?
We will
discuss three increasingly common scenarios.
-
Employer
shifts risk to employee by raising deductibles. Solution:
using medical supplements to bridge the gap can help to
manage costs while often enriching the overall plan design.
-
Employer
cuts back on other benefits such as group life, disability,
dental, and vision. Solution: voluntary benefits, flexible
spending accounts, and discount plans to provide for the
employees' needs.
-
Employer
ceases offering core benefits altogether. Solution: use
voluntary group products such as mini-meds combined with
discount plans and flex plans.

Client Enrollment Agreements…The Art of Securing
Solid Working Conditions Robert
S. Shestack, WBC, Trion
Read
Rob's Biography |
|
As Voluntary Benefit professionals,
we all agree maximizing revenue and keeping expenses down is the
art of a successful VB enrollment. But how many times has a
client changed the rules of engagement at the last minute
leaving you exposed with substandard working conditions and a
high exposure to enrollment expenses? More than you probably
want to admit to. Having an agreement in advance of any VB
enrollment with mutually acceptable terms and conditions is
critical in the profitable success of your business. Asking for
the right conditions, having them in writing and protecting your
financial well being (expense exposure) should be the foundation
of any initiative. Our presentation will review what to ask for,
how to ask for it and our experience on what clients will agree
to. More importantly, we will share with you ideas and concepts
to protect your expense exposure as well as having the client
agreeing on solid working conditions….all contributing to a
maximum profit margin in your VB enrollment initiative. Hear
from industry leaders on what works and how to strategically
engage your client with mutual buy-in. |

Competitive Strategic Advantage”
Troy R. Underwood President, Transcend Technologies Group

Troy's Biography

Billions of
dollars are spent on paper benefits administration processes
every year. However, with the emergence of enrollment
technology, brokers, carriers, and TPAs now have the opportunity
to save both time and money by reducing the number of errors and
increasing efficiency among their staff. Important things to
consider when looking into enrollment technology are how to
select the right vendor, the typical life cycle of enrollment,
and how technology can fit into that process. Learn how to use
enrollment technology as a differentiator in the marketplace and
improve the quality of your business at the same time. |

Will You Marry Me? - (The Recruiting
Courtship between the Carrier and Broker/Producer)
Mark Torrison

Read
Mark's Biography |
|
Despite what
many carriers think Distribution is NOT a 4-letter word. With
the rise of marketing and sales on that world wide electronic
wave...The Internet many experts a few years back predicted
that the steady decline in recruiting new people to our industry
would be even greater as the 21st century progressed.
Has it? Have carriers stopped looking for new brokers,
producers, and talent to bring them market share? Perhaps the
industry has confused enrollment methodologies with carriers
finding and identifying strong market leaders who still
influence decision makers.
In this session
we will look at how recruiting the sales leaders of today have
changed over the last 20 years. We will discuss the reality of
Who is recruiting Who? Which part of this marriage needs the
other partner more? We will look at some industry trends over the
last 5-years. We will also explore what is involved in the actual
recruiting process between carrier and broker. What should each
party look for in the other to increase the odds that a long and
healthy relationship will ensue after the honeymoon has ended?
Can you expect
any Dr. Phil advice....NO. There will be no couch sessions in
this presentation. |

How would you like to end the April
15th tax nightmare? Developed especially for the person working
out of their home (1099 contractor or part-time home-based
business person) April 15th, the Software is guaranteed
to quickly and easily organize your deductions and significantly
reduce your taxes. Recently updated and simplified April
15th, the Software can be mastered in less than 3 minutes.
Don't be fooled by it's short learning curve... April 15th,
the Software is extremely powerful. The reports produced at
year's end (or anytime) provide the categorized totals needed to
plug into tax preparation software or hand to your account.
These impressive reports stapled to your mail-in tax return will
significantly reduce your chance of being audited because these
beautifully detailed reports will clearly demonstrate to the IRS
that THIS taxpayer is on top of his claims. Inputing your
receipts/expenses every two or three days takes seconds and
totally eliminates the stress and hassle at year's end. Extras
that come with the purchase of the software include the ebook Finding
the Loopholes which will open the layman's eyes to the
myriad of little known ("secret") deductions available to the
home-based business person. Additionally, you'll get a handy
piece of software called the Federal Tax Estimator which
will allow you to monitor your approximate tax savings as the
year progresses. If you work from home, make April 15th "just
another day" with April 15th, the Software... you'll save
a ton of money... remember it's your money in the first place. |
