Transition Strategies For A New Marketplace
Environment: From "Healthcare" Broker To "Benefits" Broker-
Phase 4 of the impact of
healthcare reform on broker marketing will be determining your
message and positioning with the employer and employees. Clients
are going to be looking for advisors that can help them navigate
the changes and offer solutions to financial protection needs.
These speakers will explain how to frame your "unique
competitive advantage" for employers.
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - (Room C)
Career Enrollers – How To Increase Your Business!
- Many industry people see a declining role for face-to-face
enrollment; hence, less of a demand for your specialty. So
the days of just showing up and talking to the employees in
a pre-arranged setting in exchange for a fair daily rate are
still there, but they most likely will be reducing in
numbers, and perhaps have done so already. What do you do?
You adapt, you embrace change, you learn new skills, and you
learn to market yourself in new ways. This special workshop
is for career enrollers where you will be provided a
personal business plan for developing new broker
relationships in your geographic area. Your skill at
employee communication and enrollment can still be a
valuable asset, if you combine it with some additional
knowledge and new relationship development. Long-term
enrollment trends are not your friend. The market share for
personal enrollment services itself may be decreasing, but
here is the good news: A smaller share, but of a larger
market for voluntary benefits, means more opportunity than
ever. But it isn’t going to look the same as it does now.

Keynote Presentation
by Dr.
Ronald S. Leopold, MD, MBA, MPH, VP Institutional Benefits,
MetLife -
WHAT
EACH GENERATION WANTS AND NEEDS FROM BENEFITS. Tailoring programs to
maximize retention and productivity. It’s easier than you think
No
one expects a 23 year old Gen Y and a 55 year old Boomer to share the
same tastes in music or clothing, so why would they want the same things
from their workplace benefits- especially when it comes to work-life
balance? This presentation offers a fresh, original take on why
employee benefits should be recalibrated to satisfy the hearts and minds
of each of the four generations in the workforce – and how to do it
without adding complexity and cost.
Learning Objectives:
Understand how and why generations are different
from each other and what this means for attitudes to benefits in the
workplace.
Learn why there is a business advantage to adopting a generational
approach to benefits.
Discover how to “generationalize” benefits solutions and strategies
around life, financial security and health needs and mind-sets.

open mind and leave with some exciting new tools

1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. (Room C)
"Espree FDIC
Insured Payroll Bank Card" Workshop -
A debit card
(also known as a bank card or check card) is a plastic card that
provides an alternative payment method to cash when making
purchases. Functionally, it can be called an electronic check,
as the funds are withdrawn directly from either the bank
account, or from the remaining balance on the card. The use of
debit cards has become widespread in many countries and has
overtaken the check, and in some instances cash transactions by
volume. Like credit cards, debit cards are used widely for
telephone and Internet purchases, and unlike credit cards the
funds are transferred from the bearer's bank account instead of
having the bearer to pay back on a later date. This is going to
be a huge area going forward and you need to approach your
clients before your competition does.
- Espree
is a very “easy entrée” for opening new
accounts.
- Espree
increases the trust and expands the relationship
with existing accounts.
- Espree
boost’s agency revenues and profits.
- Espree
multiplies agency valuation 3x – 8x for each
dollar of increased profit.
- Espree
offers the occasion to assemble a complete menu
of voluntary products for the employees.
- Espree
puts in place a hedge against the impact of
unfavorable legislation.
- No insurance
license is required to sell
Espree.
- Commissions are
level for the lifetime of the
Espree
card’s existence.
- Espree
generates face-to-face access with all
employees.
- There are HUGE
Espree
benefits for both the employer and the employee.

Digital Communications – The Challenge of Continuous Change
In 1980, marketers had six media options. Twenty years later,
the options had more than doubled - to 15. Now, in 2010, just
ten years later, another doubling to 31. This is geometric
expansion of options for ad placement. How does today's
marketer not just keep up but also wisely choose the options
which best achieve their business objectives? |

The American Worker Plans was founded in 1992 as a Managing
General Agent for limited medical plans designed to provide
healthcare coverage for "working uninsured" that were typically
ineligible for an employer-sponsored plan. Today, AWP is one of
the nation’s leading providers of these programs, and represents
a variety of both employer-paid and voluntary/worksite products
underwritten by many of the country's leading insurers.
Specialties include customized fixed-indemnity medical plans
that can stand-alone or be combined with stop-loss coverage to
protect employees from catastrophic loss. This unique hybrid
option creates an extremely cost-effective alternative to
traditional major medical plans by efficiently addressing the
most utilized healthplan components. In addition to
fixed-indemnity models being exempt from compliance under the
new regulations of the PPACA, the differential advantages of AWP
include highly customizable plan designs, client-customized
enrollment booklets and other employee communication materials,
consolidated administration and billing along with any ancillary
products, and flexible enrollment options based on group needs. |
