Vice President of Sales, Northeast Region
Mike Martocci is Vice President of Sales for the Northeast Region for Colonial Supplemental Insurance. He is responsible for creating and overseeing sales teams to market voluntary benefits in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio and the District of Columbia. His office is based in Pittsburgh.

Martocci joined Colonial in May 2005 as territory sales manager for Colonial’s Pittsburgh/West Virginia/Ohio territory. He has more than 18 years of experience in sales, sales management, marketing, operations, insurance, investments and banking. Martocci holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Pennsylvania State University.

Vice President of Sales – West Region
Marc Lower is vice president of sales of the West Region for Colonial Supplemental Insurance. Lower is responsible for establishing sales teams to market voluntary benefits in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Utah and Nevada, and his regional sales office is located in Seattle.

Lower has 22 years of insurance industry experience in both worksite marketing and sales management. Before joining Colonial, he served as vice president of worksite marketing and interim regional vice president for Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Neb., and held sales and management positions for Jefferson Pilot Financial (now Lincoln National) in Omaha and Seattle, and for the former Unum Life Insurance Company in Seattle and Houston. Lower is an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) where he served as the 1995/1996 President for the Seattle Association, and the Voluntary Employee Benefit Board where he was the 2004/2005 President. Lower graduated from Colgate University with a BA in Economics.

Walter B. Podgurski CLU entered the insurance business after graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 1969. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1976. The great majority of his early experience was in the areas of Voluntary Employee Benefit Plans. He has been involved in the sales and service of over 1,500 payroll deduction accounts in Ohio, Nevada, Canada, and California.

Mr. Podgurski has also served at almost every field level in insurance; Agent, 1st Line Manager, 2nd Line Manager, State Manager, and in a Home Office capacity as VP of Marketing. He has also served as President of his own consulting firm, and has conducted voluntary benefits training and related seminars in the U.S., Canada, and England. He has also written what is considered the authoritative work on Worksite Marketing "From Worksite Marketing To Website Marketing" which is published by The National Underwriter Company.

In July of 1997, Mr. Podgurski formed what is now InsuranceBroadcasting.com  which

publishes a daily e-mail newsletter “INSURANCE NEWSCAST” covering the news and events of the insurance and financial services industries that is subscribed to by over 450,000 insurance industry professionals from over 40 countries. InsuranceBroadcasting.com also operates two industry associations; the Workplace Benefits Association and the Insurance Media Association.
