We are looking for you to be a key contributor to our disability center of excellence located in Farmington, CT.

Disability Underwriter

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform case-specific risk assessment and rate development on new cases and complex existing business
• Assist management in developing and driving market and sales strategies, participate in product enhancements and pricing
• In-depth knowledge of disability products (STD, LTD, DBL,TDB, FML), markets, and regulatory issues required
• Ability to make effective decisions based on strong knowledge of all financial implications
• Ability to interpret factors that influence market and competitive conditions
• Recognized as a leader and expert in disability underwriting practice

• College degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5-7 years Disability Underwriting experience
• Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess strong Excel and Access skills
• Monthly travel to Neptune, NJ location required
