Fidelity Life
Association (FLA), established in 1896, is a legal reserve life
insurance company headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. We continue the
tradition of serving the needs of Middle Americans through innovative
products, consumer-friendly service and a staff of talented, dedicated
and creative people in the industry. This
newly added role allows you to help build this expanding program. The
position would be located at our Rolling Meadows, IL office.
The preferred employment category would be a
consultant working 10-20 hours per week.
Summary:
This position reports
to the Chief Underwriter with primary responsibility for the
underwriting assessment of Worksite proposals. The position will work
directly with Worksite Marketing and product staff to determine the
viability of proposals and the parameters of each offer. In addition,
this position would also be involved in developing new Worksite products
and associated underwriting guidelines. This position requires a strong
communicator, ability to work with others inside and outside of the
Company.
Key Responsibilities
and Duties:

Review and analyze
census information for recommendation of case approval or decline
for group proposals; verifies rate structures, retention level and
conformity with underwriting regulations.

Serve as primary
liaison to marketing department, product development and management
to determine appropriate benefit designs and pricing structure.

Develop and
maintain relationships with field personnel and clients by answering
questions and obtaining information on which to base decisions.

Participate in
product development and enhancements.

Provide resourceful
contributions to new market developments and case specific
opportunities.
Required Skills:
-
General knowledge
of the Worksite (Volunteer Benefit) process from RFP through
submission of underwriting proposal.

Ability to define
and administer GI, CGI, and SI underwriting criteria.
-
Underwriting
judgment applicable to groups of 10 - 1,000+ lives.
-
Excellent verbal
and written communication skills.
-
Strong
problem-solving and analytical skills.
-
Knowledge of
relevant state and federal legislation.
Education & Experience:
-
Ten years life
underwriting experience with a specialization in the volunteer
benefit insurance arena.
BA/BS or equivalent preferred.

Professional
courses (LOMA, FALU, CLU, etc.) preferred.
